Peter Nuugonya
Peter’s passion for wildlife spawned at an early age while learning about the calls, tracks, and behaviors of the animals he encountered while clearing bush as a youngster in his village of Oshivambo. His career in tourism and conservation officially began at Sossusvlei Mountain Lodge in the Namib Rand Reserve, where his charisma and warm personality were evident from the start. He was eventually selected to partake in the CCAfrica in-house guide training program. Soon after, he prospered as a full time guide. Over the past many years, Peter has become an avid birder, star gazer, photographer, as well as an excellent guide. He has a particularly strong interest in astronomy, and loves sharing his knowledge of the night sky with travelers from around the world. His enthusiasm for the stars and the wildlife of his homeland in Namibia brightens the trails of all his traveling companions.
