Morocco's sensuous beauty is legendary, from imperial cities with labyrinthine souks to the awesome grandeur of the Sahara. Our Private Journey discovers this graceful land in Fes—a walled city suspended in a medieval dream—and in the storied casbahs of Marrakesh, in the red-rock canyons of the High Atlas, and in a stunning desert oasis where dunes stretch to the horizon. You have a private guide with you from Day 1 through the afternoon of Day 8, and your accommodations are in hotels as well as riads, traditional mansions that have been converted into boutique hotels of character, with charming Moorish and Andalusian architecture, tiled central courtyards open to the sky, and peaceful rooftop gardens. Each riad is unique and has its own special personality and decor. At journey's end, you can extend your travels to the enchanting walled town of Essaouira on the edge of the sea.

Ramadan, the Islamic month of daytime fasting, occurs from approximately March 10 to April 9, 2024, and March 1 to 30, 2025. During Ramadan, there may be reduced restaurant/bar facilities in hotels, but this will not make an impact on the trip overall.
"We want to put in a special word for our guide, Mohamed. His energy, knowledge, and enthusiasm put a positive stamp on the entire journey. He was a delight—professional, courteous, and efficient. I feel like we made a wonderful friend, and it was sad to leave him behind! It was really a pleasure to travel with Wilderness. I hope to come back to you in the future."

"Our Morocco trip exceeded expectations in every way, and those expectations were already incredibly high. Our guide and driver were incredible in every way. They took great care to make sure that we were happy and comfortable at all times, taking breaks out of the itinerary to show us things that they knew that we were interested in, and went over and above to make sure that this was an extraordinary journey for us. My memories of Morocco will always be some of my most fondest, thanks to all of the planning, care and consideration both of our guide and driver but also Wilderness Travel in general. This was our third trip with you, and each one has been unique. It won't be our last."

"We can’t say enough good things about our guide's knowledge, personal skills, warmth—and most of all his patience. He dealt with five different people with different needs, who often asked questions that had already been answered—and never did he show anything but the utmost care and good will. He is a treasure—Wilderness Travel should be very proud."

With more than 200 different adventures to choose from, we want to help you find the trip that’s right for you. Our Trip Level system ranks each trip in two ways: a number rating from 1 to 6 according to the activity, and general travel rigors. 1 is the easiest and 6+ the most difficult—see descriptions below for explanations of each number. A plus (+) sign means the trip is a bit more strenuous than other trips of that level. The detailed explanation of each trip—below the bar with the number rating—is perhaps more important, specifying activities, altitudes, hiking, and travel conditions. The Detailed Itinerary, available by download or mail, gives further information. Our Area Managers can also answer questions and guide you to the trip that best suits your interests.
