Admiral - The Italian Sea Group

Admiral builds luxury superyachts in aluminium and steel measuring up to 145 metres in length. The shipyard is headquartered in Marina di Carrara, Italy.

History

Admiral’s genesis began in the 1950s when the Italian shipyard Cantieri Navali Lavagna began building wooden luxury cruising motor yachts under the Arcobaleno Super and later, President, brands. The first Admiral model was a sporty wooden, 18-metre flybridge cruiser. The Admiral brand proved so popular that the shipyard began building larger models, including a 30-metre version, launched in the mid-1970s, followed by Mau Mau, a 34-metre Admiral with four engines and a top speed of 32 knots.

Admiral began building semi-displacement, performance yachts in a light aluminium alloy in 1982. It also launched a series of oceangoing full displacement yachts with steel hulls and aluminium topsides. The shipyard’s in-house design team has developed numerous yacht model lines that share naval architecture, engineering and exterior styling, including its C Force, E Motion, Envy, Impero, Maxima, Momentum and Regale series.

In 2011, Italian shipyard Technomar acquired Admiral. Today, both brands are part of The Italian Sea Group.

Notable Yachts

The 40-metre Cacos V, an Admiral Impero 40 luxury superyacht designed in collaboration with Luca Dina Design, was delivered in 2013.  Luca Dina also worked with Admiral’s design team to create the exterior styling for the 47-metre Entourage an Admiral Maxima series superyacht, which launched in the summer of 2014.
